Longitudinal Welding Machine

Applications: The lifting-type straight seam welding machine is mainly suitable for butt welding of medium and thin sheet metal workpieces made of carbon steel, stainless steel, and other metals. The types of workpieces that can be clamped and welded by the straight seam welding machine include: thin metal sheets, cylindrical workpieces, conical tubes, truncated cones, as well as box structures and flat plate butt joints.

HOGI The straight seam welding machine is used for welding cylinders, flat plates, stainless steel, carbon steel, copper plates, aluminum plates, iron plates, pressure vessels, water tanks, electrical appliances, hardware, metal containers, etc.

The welding mandrel is inlaid with copper fixtures, providing back gas protection for the weld seam. Different welding groove geometries can be machined on cylindrical or flat workpieces to achieve single-sided welding with double-sided forming. Depending on the length and thickness of the workpiece, an airbag or cylinder type clamping system can be used to ensure sufficient clamping force and prevent thermal deformation during welding. The welding torch travels along a guide rail structure with a ground rail surface, ensuring smooth movement and stable and reliable welding.

PLC numerical control allows for welding of linear welds, with welding parameters displayed and adjustable on the screen. The straight seam welding machine features a cantilever single-column structure, mainly composed of a frame, pneumatic clamping fixture, beam guide rail, mandrel electric slide, welding torch lifting mechanism, welding torch adjustment mechanism, pneumatic system, and electrical control system. A travel motor drives the welding torch along the linear moving slide and guide rail. The pneumatic clamping plate and copper backing ensure even pressure, rapid heat dissipation, and a beautiful and strong weld seam.

It boasts a long service life, DC motor drive, gear and rack transmission, smooth movement, and stable welding.

Uniform clamping within the welding length range ensures high precision and minimal deformation.

Stable and reliable operation during welding, with an adjustable welding workbench height and length to accommodate different workpieces. Automatic centering and positioning for flat plate butt welding. The welding torch is pneumatically lifted, and the welding speed is adjustable for continuous overall welding or segmented welding.

Main advantages of laser welding machines:

1. Fast processing speed;

2. Small thermal deformation and heat-affected zone (suitable for processing high-melting-point, high-hardness, and special materials);

3. Capable of localized heat treatment of parts;

4. Can process complex-shaped parts and micro-parts, and can also be used for processing in a vacuum;

5. Noise-free processing and no environmental pollution;

6. Easy to automate when combined with computer technology;

7. Advanced processing method allows for improvement of existing product structures and materials;

8. Can improve workpiece quality.

 Stainless Steel Cylinder

With the continuous expansion of my country’s stainless steel market, the consumption of stainless steel sheets has increased year by year, and thin-walled stainless steel sheets have become widely used in various manufacturing fields.  Therefore, the welding of thin-walled stainless steel sheets has become a crucial process in manufacturing. The inherent characteristics of thin-walled stainless steel sheets make welding them challenging.

The tricky problems in welding thin stainless steel sheets are burn-through and deformation. Thin stainless steel sheets have low rigidity. During the welding process, localized heating and cooling occur, resulting in uneven heating and cooling. This causes uneven stress and strain in the welded parts. When the longitudinal shrinkage of the weld seam exceeds a certain value, it can cause significant wave-like deformation, affecting the workpiece’s shape and quality.

The main measures to solve the problems of burn-through and deformation during stainless steel sheet welding are:

(1) Strictly control the heat input at the welding joint. Select appropriate welding methods and process parameters (mainly welding current, arc voltage, and welding speed);

(2) Strive for precise assembly dimensions. The interface gap should be as small as possible. A slightly larger gap can easily lead to burn-through or the formation of large weld beads.

(3) Precision fixtures must be used, with balanced and uniform clamping force. The key to welding thin stainless steel sheets is to strictly control the linear energy at the welding joint, striving to minimize heat input while still completing the weld. This reduces the heat-affected zone and avoids the above-mentioned defects.

Deformation is unavoidable when welding thin stainless steel sheets using TIG welding. Only segmented back-step welding methods can be used. The current should not be too high. The heating time of the sheet should be shortened as much as possible. This minimizes the deformation of the sheet.

Laser welding machines, also often called laser welders, are machines used for laser material processing. Laser welding uses high-energy laser pulses to locally heat small areas of the material. The energy of the laser radiation diffuses into the material through heat conduction, melting the material to form a specific molten pool to achieve the purpose of welding.

The HG series laser welding machine is a specialized machine series developed by HOGI Laser specifically for butt welding and circular welding of stainless steel sheets with a thickness of 0.5-2mm.  This machine features a compact design, simple operation, and uses all original imported components, resulting in stable performance, low failure rate, and a service life of over 10 years. The weld length can be customized according to customer requirements.

HOGI automated cylindrical straight seam welding machine includes a tooling platform for placing cylindrical products, a clamping mechanism, and a welding robot.  The tooling platform has rollers along its edges, including outer and inner rollers, each with a support frame. The outer rollers are fixed to the edge of the tooling platform, while the inner rollers are located inside the cylindrical product. A rotating motor is installed on top of the inner rollers, driving their rotation, which in turn rotates the outer rollers. A clamping mechanism is installed at the bottom of the inner rollers, and a straight seam positioning device for the cylindrical product is located between the two inner rollers. The welding robot is positioned directly in front of the straight seam joint of the cylindrical product and is used for welding the straight seam joint. This automated cylindrical straight seam welding machine can fix the straight seam of the cylindrical product, ensuring a straight weld, effectively improving welding quality and production efficiency, offering convenient operation, and reducing material waste.
